Your going to hate me for this......

The bass I've seen this last week were really small.... as in 4 to 6 inches long.

Same with the peacock bass.... 8 to 12 inch ones.
So we've switched to fly rods.... small streamers, wolly buggers and tiny popping bugs.

If your not a fly fisherman, use the "Bubble Rig"

Using 4# test spinning tackle and tiny lures works too.

At the moment, the "baby fish" are aggressive and the "big fish" are ignoring everything thrown at them...
So it depends on what you want to do... go for the big ones and you might get a few. Or scale down your tackle to match the size of the fish and have lots of fast action fun.
