We fished from Boy Scout Island to way up the North Fork past the bridge. It was muddy up there, but the peacock and largemouth were chasing minnows in the shallow mud flats.
Down by Morgan's Pt. the water visibility was 3 to 4 feet. We used jerk baits, crank baits, and senkos along the shore and trailed a live bait behind the boat. Most of the fish were caught on lures. All of the red devils were caught on a fire-tiger crank bait. The fish didn't seem that aggressive. If you missed the first strike, they wouldn't come back and give you a second chance.
At Morgans' Pt. it was live bait only. (They said they caught 14 fish in a little over 1/2 an hour befor they ran out of bait.) With all the laughing and shouting, you'd of thought they caught a 1000. LOL
As we were leaving around 4:00 PM.... that stretch of lake from Benny's Cove (20) all the way to Morgan's Pt (24) just came alive with schooling fish. Almost any lure we tossed into that boiling mass of shad and peacock bass would draw a strike. But we had to go home......
An exciting time was had by all.
