who says bass are in decline??

Postby adpetree » Wed Dec 02, 2009 1:26 pm

ha ha. thought this might catch some eyes!! went to the lake today. was n the water by 7, off by 1145. two decent sized peacocks, and get ready for this one.....4 largemouth!! and i am happy to report that all 4 of them were very healthy looking!! to include one that was about three punds!! good day on the lake, the water clarity is really good right now, though the temps are not ideal. anyway, fun day!!!
Thanks,

Adam

i caught two of them bouncing a crankbait off of the logs, and the big one, and one lil guy flipping a 4" berkley crazy legs chigger craw in black and blue on a sunken tree. the trick is to make repeated casts to an area that looks good. i fished the same sunken bush for 45 minutes to catch those last two!!!!
Thanks,

Adam

dunno about the decline but damn good day sounds like!,perhaps the stable high water level helped get em into the cover again! cause last weekend they wernt near the bank at all! and yep its a cardinal sin of all boaters i think to run and gun, sometimes the largemouth need to be"sweet" talked into biting hahahaha.

I agree, if you want to catch largemouth go low and slow.
Peacock bass seem to be more of the run and gun kind of fishing.
