Fishing in the rain.

Postby Stan Wright » Thu Oct 12, 2006 6:23 pm

Wed and Thur..... rain. Chris and some friends still had a great time catching peacock bass, largemouth bass, and some red devils.

The water level is way down again. Two weeks ago it was way up in the grass, now it looks about 12 feet lower. I understand there is a water level gauge on the support column of the south bridge. (North side of the column that says "catch & release".... I'll have to start checking it. LOL The rain didn't seem to muddy up the water, it looked nice and clear.

Chris said that the last two days the peacock bass were schooling and busting the surface like crazy near Boy Scout Island. At times they would eat anything, at other times they were very selective, even refusing live bait. It is exciting when the water all around the boat is boiling with feeding fish.

Lots of waterfalls on the Windward side of Oahu this week.

I hate fishing in the rain. How do you catch fish in the rain any ways?

Chris went.... not me. Ever heard about that old saying..."too stupid to come in out of the rain" ?
Personally I didn't think fish went out in the rain ... they didn't like to get wet. <grin>
