A few years back when I ran the Maintenance section of DLNR/DOBOR Maui District I once had the Maui Fire Department come down to the Kihei ramp with their tanker truck and wash the silt away free of charge.

Sometimes all you have to do is ask.

I think Stan has direct experience in this arena!

58.89 at 0915 Sunday morning looks like we should be able to launch again.

Has anyone been to the ramp to check it out in person?

Got a call around 10:30 AM... John said there were 4 boat trailers in the parking lot. There should be some fishing reports tonight.

Took out the flatstalker again. Had 4 trailers in the lot and 20 blocks showing at the ramp. Filthy, muddy water at ramp coming from south fork. Tons of debris to dodge. Cleared up out by BSI. Worked my way slowly to Mikimiki .( only had my trolling motor ) Picked up one nice 3.5tuc on live bait and one small LMB on a sinko. Lots of small blow ups on the sinko. Fished 3 hours and by the time I came back to the ramp, only 16 blocks showed. You could really see the current coming from the south fork. It is still coming up. No problems launching now !
