Lately I've seen a need for live bait so I decided since I usually catch more than I need, I could provide a needed service to the fresh water fishermen on Oahu. This will be on a temporary basis pending how much of a need there is.

RATES:
$20.00 per 100 with 2 or more days notice.
$25.00 per 100 same day service pending stock availability.

What You Get:
A mix of mosquito fish and talopia. Some mosquito fish as large as three (3) inches!
I'm not here to get rich, mainly just cover some start-up cost and part of my time. Walmart has raised their prices to a whopping $52.00/100, plus I'm located about 3 miles from the Wahiawa Freshwater park!

Walmart raised their prices from $.26/ea. to $.52/ea!!!

I think I paid $10 for 40 medium size fish at Stadium Mall.
So for 100 fish it was over $25.

Tested them out on salt water last night. They actually survived quite nice out in K-Bay... Also was about to keep them alive in a bait bucket for 24 hours before i tossed the remainder of them in... Only down side is they seemed a little lethargic in salt water but they still swam around.

Thats good to hear. I guess since they are raised in brackish water, they can do OK in salt water or fresh water. One minnow for all types of water! Thanks for the feedback.

MINNOW TIPS:

Here are a couple of tips so you get the most out of your minnows.

*Use a large container. The more water there is available, the more diluted all the amonias, toxins, waste, etc. becomes and will be less harmful to the bait.

*Use an airater. Keeping a good supply of oxygen in the water will keep the minnows alive indefinitely. Everyone needs oxygen.

*Ice. Keep the water cool. Cool water helps retain the oxygen in the water. Don't over do it with the ice. A half pint or pint of water frozen in a ziplock bag will go a long way. It also helps to keep a lid on the bucket and keep it closed to keep the sunlight (heat) out.

* Know where and when to use your bait. Even the livelyest of minnows won't help if you are not where the fish are. Hit up some of the veteran fisherman (Stan) to see where is a good spot. This applies wheather you're fishing from a bank or boat.

O also side note, KEEP A LID on the buckets, I forgot to bring mine and every 3 or so minutes i would have to walk over to the bucket and put a minnow that jumped out back into the bucket.... This was in 5 gallon buckets filled about halfway....
