Sunday Fishing Report

Got to the lake about 10 o'clock on Sunday morning . . . just in time to witness a flotilla of boats take off from the launch ramp. I spent the day fishing around the dam as the tucs were schooling. It seemed as though whenever the surface calmed down that the baitfish would come topside and the tucs would bust them. Funny thing, they would not take lures and I could only catch them by free spooling a live minnow on light line. Throughout the day I managed to catch six with the average being 1.5 to 2 pounds. Here's a picture of a nice one:

I saw quite a few boaters, most of them were loaded with kids who were being taught how to fish. Good reports of red devils being caught . . . I saw them everywhere in the shallows. Also talked to Bill who is still searching for those big 'uns heading for the spawn.

All in all, a slow day, but the occassional bite in the midst of schooling bass made the trip worthwhile.
