Small Stream Fishing

This afternoon John and I took our fly rods and played around in a small stream. I wish John could have landed that smallmouth bass so I could show you a picture. But it was just too much for his 4# test tippit. We really weren't expecting to hook any fish that big.

Here are some pictures of the kinds of fish we did catch.

Hey Stan, do you think we can do a quick sesh in that little stream instead of fishing Ala Wai? You don't even need to launch the boat  I'd love to add a few more species onto that list of mine...say the jewel cichlid, the tilapia and I think the last one is a convict cichild? Did I get the ID of the fish right?

If you're busy...but don't mind telling, can you PM me the spot where you're fishing? If I can take the bus there, I can do a quick morning or afternoon sesh. I promise I won't expose your spot

Hello Ken,
I'm the guy fishing in the back/foreground. Approximately what time frame are you coming out here? I may be able to take you around some streams as well and that is a convict cichlid.

Hey John! I'll in Oahu between April 19th to May 4th. Thanks for the invite! :D I am still trying to budget a car rental for a few days...but if not, TheBus will be my way of getting around. :D
