Hot Action / Cool Water

What a difference a day makes... I was just going to check out the motor and didn't plan to stay for but a few minutes. The first guy I met at the ramp reported catching 40 or 50 fish. They are schooling near the outfall.
The next guy pulled up to the ramp and I was starting out.... He reported catching 68 peacock bass... schooling fish near the outfall. Mostly in the 1 1/2 to 2 pound range.
I pulled up at the outfall and the water was boiling with fish chasing shad. I caught fish on a gold CastMaster and a silver/blue CastMaster. Then I caught on a small Sinko, a Roadrunner, and a Jig.
Another guy came up and reported catching 64 fish... his largest weighing 7 pounds. In the 10 minutes I was there talking to him he caught several more.... Gold CastMaster. They were still catching when I left.
He said he got a picture of that 7 pounder and will post it later. (They said something about leaving when it got too dark to fish.) LOL
Water temperature was 74 degrees. I don't know why the fish were so active all day... but I'm glad they were.
