AJ's First Fish?
It may have been AJ's first peacock bass, but it sure wasn't his first fish. I watched him expertly land over a dozen nice peacock bass and I can tell you that with the skill he handled those peacocks.... this wasn't his first fishing trip.
Dad wasn't doing to bad... here he is battling a nice 3 pound 3 ounce peacock bass. Sorry I didn't bet a shot of your fish, I had a fish on too.
These two guys at Blue Boat Point are into another "double hookup". It was wild action... the more people fishing, it seemed the more aggressive the fish got. It wasn't all live bait.
Here is a shot of John with a peacock bass he caught on an artificial lure. He caught fish on a gold CastMaster and a crank bait. (including 4 large mouth) When those peacock bass hear the dinner bell ring.... they will hit anything.
Got a call from Larry....... he reported catching 160 fish yesterday.... about 40% of those on artificial lures. Their largest fish were in the 6 pound range.
Today the smaller peacock bass in the 1 to 1 1/2 pound size were going crazy and chasing shad near Boy Scout Island. That gold CastMaster was working for us. Everyone fishing the HFFA bass tournament limited out today.
