Mixed Bag
One of the things I like about fly fishing..... you catch a wide verity of fish.
Those little bits of fur and feathers tied to a small hook attract a lot of attention.
Flys are made to imitate small fish and bugs that fish eat. Some flys that I tie don't look like anything on this earth. (but the fish still like them)
Victors first red devil was fooled by a wool body, rubber legged, bug looking thing...
Judy's peacock bass attacked a white marabou streamer fly with a plastic bead for a head.
See the little rubber spider in the mouth of this nice red devil Judy landed?
This big blue gill was fooled by one of Victors Clouser Minnows.
Victors first peacock bass.... ever... ( He did catch more and larger peacock bass.)
What was special about this little guy was it almost got eaten by a very large peacock bass on the way to the boat. Victor was able to rescue it from it's large hungry cousin and return it safely to it's small brothers and sisters hiding in the shallow water.
Larry told me the name of this fish, ( write it down Stan ) It hit hard and put up a good fight.
(I know some of you guys will respond to this post with it's name. Thanks in advance.)
It was a real pleasure fishing with Judy and Victor. One of these days I hope to be able to cast a fly rod with the skill and ease they do. Just watching them was an education.
Aloha,
Stan
