Went out today March 30th. The fish were there, just picky.

I used baby brush hogs texas rigged.
baby brush hog color was green pumpkin w/red flake
1/4 ounce tungsten(pumpkin seed coating)
3/0 Gamakasti EWG
This was surely the money bait on Sunday.

Hey Joe, you actually caught some tucs using plastics Texas rigged? I don't get bit very often using common bass fishing techniques plus I usually don't catch them very deep. Were you keeping in contact with the bottom when they hit? At what depth? Thanks....

First time I ever saw anything like it too. It's still hard to believe. I was thinking the peacock bass moved off the nest after spawning and are guarding the hatchlings just a little deeper than where the nest was. That brush hog was the perfect bait, in the right place, at the right time. It was really working. I still can't believe it.
(of course, confidence and skill of the angler had nothing to do with it... right?)
