Fish are biting..

Thursday morning, Chris started out with 100 live bait and by 11:00 AM they ran out of bait. The peacock bass at Blue Boat Point were averaging around 2 pounds.... some smaller, some larger.

This morning (Friday) they started out with 125 live baits. Again they stopped fishing when all the live baits were gone. Mostly peacock bass, a few largemouth, and the largest fish of the day, a 5 1/2 catfish.

Mean while, Clay and I were using small yellow popping bugs trying to catch red devils and bluegills. The small peacock bass were just too fast. We didn't catch as many, or as large, peacock bass as Chris, but we sure had fun.

Scattered showers (all morning).... Water is rising (probably up 4 feet this week) but the clarity good and clear..... 3 to 4 feet. If you want to catch fish just work the shoreline for small (one pound) peacock bass, or get some live bait and park yourself on some point.

Someone ask what kind of live bait we were using.... Those gold fish from the pet store. Mollies? Feeder fish. The large and medium size.

I've just been to lazy to go out and catch the tilapia and mosquito fish.

Stan, Have you been finding that the fish stop biting in the afternoon? Anybody catching lots in the later part of the day?

Well, so far I've run out of bait around noon and gone home.
Remeber several months ago everyone was fishing in the afternoon.
I'll try bringing more bait tomorrow.... or start later in the day.
