Fun Little Fish

Sunday, 6 May 18...
The hot color today was chartreuse. Smaller flys worked best.
( I couldn't get the gold flys to get more than follows...)
The red devils were very cooperative... the small peacock bass were around. Lots of really small peacock bass. Largest Peacock weighed ¾ pound. The Red Devils were around one pound.
The peacock bass were schooling a little on the south side of Boy Scout Island. Kind of... a splash here and there. If you got your lure in the splashing, they hit.
Water Temperature at the ramp at 11:00 AM was 82... Down by Boy Scout Island it was 78.
Saw some larger peacock bass along the shore... singles mostly... only followed my fly.
Overcast probably helped the schooling, but made site fishing harder.
Lots of people on the lake... boat parking was full. Lots of people fishing from shore too.
I just wanted to check what the lake looked like and see if it was worth bringing some Scouts fishing next week.
Lots of small fish action on small flys, so it should be easy for them to catch something.
If a kid doesn't catch something in the first 20 minutes, you've lost them.
