June 12

Took my kayak out Tuesday around 8am but the fish slept in until about 10:30 when I caught the fist tuc. As the day went on they became a lot more active but only the runts. I didn't see any larger fish so I guess they never woke up at all! I caught a bunch of juniors on a white 3" hard jerkbait about 0-3 feet off any structure. The wind was blowing me around too much to really concentrate on any one spot so if I was in my tube I know I could have done better. All fish were caught off Boy Scout island and along the bank by the sewage area back towards the ramp. It's nice to see the water level where it is. I think the fishing should only get better. What do you guys think?

Strange seeing the water level so high after 2 years. Looks good. As the water temperature rises, so does the peacock bass action. Think small white lures or flys... and work them fast. LOL

Clay got a 2 3/4 pounder with a tag. I called it in and hope for a story soon.

We fished the same place you did and had good action. Almost any place where there was brush in the water the little tukes were close by.... and the big ones (2 to 3 pounders) were hanging around there too.

It's nice seeing 2 or 3 peacock bass chasing your flys and lures again.

This is the highest you've seen it in 2 years? What about last March when we had 40 days & 40 nights of rain? LOL

Remember the point you were going to fish the day you saw me in my tube but decided not to try it? Well I can't remember how juniors I yanked off it the other day. Good spot!

That's right, I forgot about the "Big Rain" (I was out of town most of that time.) I also remember water so muddy I didn't want to go fishing. LOL

The water looks like something I'd buy at Starbucks! Yuk, Yuk, Yuk!
