Water Clearing

Water visibility was better this weekend. 1 1/2 to 2 feet in most places. Water temperature was 76 and 77 degrees. The red devils were much more active and lots of fun on fly rods.

The peacock bass were everywhere, but still ignoring most everything we put in front of them. One guy on shore using live bait caught 3 nice ones, but said most of the time they would just swim up to his bait, look at it, and swim away.

The peacock bass are spawning. If you could spot a nest in the murkey water you could usually catch a fish. With 2 foot water visibility and most of the spawning fish in 3 feet of water it made for some tough fishing. As the water level drops again and the water clears it should get much better.
