smallies on stingers

been catching a lot of smallies on stingers these days. rigging them on small jig heads. using UL poles and 4 pound test. heres some pics. i use various colors. purple, chart., smoke shad, watermellon. all work.

Those are some sweet smallies Marcus! When the weather clears up, I'd like to go for a hike and catch some more myself. Hope you're in for it!

definitely! the rain shuts down the smallmouth bite everywhere

I used to kill the smallmouth population (not literally :wink: ) on my ultralight outfits using 1/16 oz jigheads with 2" pumpkinseed Powerbait curly tail grubs. I'd work it near the bottom like it was a juvenile crawdad, and the smallies could not resist it. The smallest Scounger type jigheads with the vinyl lip was especially deadly in action. Just a slow steady retrieve and they would go nuts. I better go dig some up, and walk my favorite streams again, it's been way too long.
