Hopper-tunity... knocked all day long.
The rainbow trout were hammering the grasshoppers.

We saw eagles, geese, turkey, ospray, sandhill cranes, deer,
buffalo... and lots of rainbow trout.
The imitation grasshopper sitting on the Tenkara rod.

We lost a lot more than we caught.

One fish I've never seen before... a Yellow Eye.
The Montana Tarpon. That thing was jumping all over the place.

I fished the Tenkara rod all day... it got a real workout
on those 12 to 18 inch Yellowstone River rainbows.

Goldeye - the freshwater 'poon.

A related species to the mooneye we have in Ontario, they are fun on the fly :D I tried to find them in Alberta but they were on the spawning run way upstream of where we fish.
