The peacock and largemouth bass were schooling and chasing shad... but they were really picky about what they wanted. I caught a little bass on the white Senko. Nothing on the gold or the silver/blue CastMaster... or any number of other things we threw at them.

Nick got a largemouth on a spinnerbait... he did a great job... especially since it went deep and got wrapped around some Calif. grass.

And that was it. The only 2 strikes all day.

Nice bass and nice Curado! Could've been around 5 pounds if it was better fed. Nice largemouths coming up lately!

That is a nice bass and not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but according to national bass length/weight charts, a 21" bass should weigh about 5.78 lbs. Further evidence identifying problems with our lake.

I think its the Red Devils!! Look at the holes they barrow... And their pretty agressive.... But I don't see them school on bait fish.. So they aren't out competing the bass for food? . And I have seen Alot of Bait Fish!!!!! A lot!!! Which is good!! But I see your point with the low weight numbers!! Maybe the lake is still young?? I've seen this in PA in a new lake they started near the Delaware river, low weight numbers at first,, but they grown in recent years... I agree with you roadwarrior! Its something we should keep an eye on!!
