:D
Figured I'd hit the early schooling bite this morning then quit around 10.

Howard and I drifted around the pocket before BSA Island for
an hour. They got 2 and I didn't get a chase. The fish were scattered
and didn't stay on the surface but a few seconds.
I tried CastMasters, Crocodiles, Roadurnners, Senkos, even the gold fly on the fly rod...
nothing.... not even a chase when I cast right into the splashing.

Moved on down to Kemoo Island to try for some red devils
with my Tenkara rod,
The RDs were everywhere, but not biting.
All they would do is swim over and look the fly.
( I need some of that "crawfish scent" the bass guys
spray on their lures.)

This 1 3/4 pound peacock bass liked the little gold fly.

Surprise, surprise... this carp liked the little fly too.

At 1 3/4 pounds... boy did this guy put a bend in that 12 foot Tenkara Rod.
The 5:5 rod bends double. I need to get a way longer handled dip net.

Got lots of chases along the shore. Water temperature was
77 to 78 degrees and the fish seemed a little sluggish. Even saw
some peacocks that looked like they might be trying to spawn.
This 1 1/2 pounder was one of the more aggressive fish.
All the fish I caught today were on the Tenkara Rod.
I could have left all the other rods at home.

Before you go out and buy a Tenkara rod, read Tenkara Bum's web site. He's tested all the styles and brands and written some good information to help you in choosing a rod.

http://www.tenkarabum.com/tenkara-bum.html

Another site is www.tenkarausa.com

You also might want to try out some rods first.

Great action Stan. I gotta get my Tenkara rods to the lake, I've accumulated 3 but so far only used for tilapia in back yard.
