<Mike>
Fishunter and I met up while we both happened to be on Oahu for a day of peacock bass fishing..
After an hour of fishing we had lost count of the number of fish caught, after 4 hours of fishing we had lost count of the number of doubles...
We would laugh as we said, "Oh no... Not another Peacock Bass!"
Great company and an epic trip
<Greg>
Heck Yeah, great trip. Always wanted to catch a Peacock Bass. Certainly one of my best trips ever.
We fished a lot of laydowns and points. Those peacocks would come out of nowhere and attack the flies. They were also busting shad along the bank. What a hoot. I'm gonna get me some of those Strippes. They really help when you gotta keep those flies moving so fast. It’s so much fun to see a couple fish chasing/fighting over your fly.
I also fished another day and got into the Red Devils (aquarium release).
A big shout out and thank you to Stan and Chris Wright from Hawaii Bass Fishing (hawaiibassfishing.com) for taking us out. Those guys are surely a class act. We were fast friends and their hospitality was above and beyond. They really know the water and the fish. If you ever get the chance, you need to go on a trip with them. Stan has a thousand stories & stood around and bs’d with us for an hour after the trip.
Now for the fish...
