Hi Stan/Chris, since you asked, here is a pic of the 10.2 lb bass I caught at El Salto. First and only 10+ I have caught. Tell Chris, the offer is still open for him to come and fish our home water, the San Joaquin Delta with us. My oldest son is a fly fishing guide for striper and largemouth there and we will make sure he has a good time.
See you
Wendell

:D
That sounds like a plan to me!
Aloha,
Stan

Don't mess around with those Texas/Mexico lakes they have pirates :D it's all about the So Cal lakes. I caught my 10.4lber at Casitas when I was 14. My old tournament partner usually catches 10 or more 10lb+ fish a year with a couple of +15lbers thrown in the mix and his largest was 19.4 Best time for the big ones is winter when they start stocking rainbows. I would love to post the picture of my 10lber but I had it in a shoe box and my cat(a kitten at the time) decided to use that shoe box as a litter box.

A little food for thought...Florida strain largemouth that have stocker rainbow trout to eat.

We could stock some rainbow trout in Lake Wilson during the winter.... don't know if they could survive the warm summer temperatures... but it would be some fun fishing through spring. I bet the peacock bass would take care of any survivors before summer anyway

You didn't hear about the mexican pirates(drug cartel) that chased down two jet skiers and killed the husband? It was on one of the border lakes..maybe falcon. It was all over the news maybe a couple months ago.

Oh yeah, I know all about that. El Salto is by Mazatlan and the lake is in the Sierra Madres. Not near the border where the action is. Still, it is in Mexico, so you have to be thinking about it. I can't understand why my wife keeps making me go there ???????

I wonder if it's legal to carry a gun in you boat on the border lakes?

I got my oders a couple of weeks ago...I'm going to Ft. Gordon Georgia..I guess it's pretty close to clarks hill/strom thurman..from what I understand it's pretty awesome bass fishing! I'm excited......

Anyone looking to buy a basstracker around may? 2001 17.5ft w/60hp merc I'm gonna upgrade to champion, triton or a nitro when I get to Ga.
