Tommy and I were trying to get out of our wives way on Friday afternoon, so we were checking out the action at the lake.
Pretty slow using lures along the shoreline. Figured we'd find the largemouth, like last Wed. but they were not to be found.
Water temperature was 76 degrees and clear, weather was mostly cloudy.
We did see some bass chasing shad on the surface. Again, not nearly as active as they were 2 days before. Tommy got this nice one on a spinner bait. We would see the bass swimming along on the surface and cast at it.
Saw so many BIG peacock bass. Huge schools of them just hanging around logs and in the back of coves. Lathargic? They were just hanging out and not interested in our lures. (I understand they were eating mosquito fish and tiny talipia... that's what some smiling fishermen told us)
On the way out of the parking lot I spotted Sean. Nice Channel Catfish.
One of several... he also told me he had landed 3 bass. Mayhaps we should have been fishing at the boat ramp.

Stan is being modest. He didn't mention that he caught twice as many fish as me!

I went out Sun. afternoon after the morning rain. On my first cast I for a good strike on a submerged finger before BSA Is., using a drop shot rig. After that, nothing. Tried top water and off the bottom at several popular locations. Nothing. You didin't mess anything today!
