Whopper....Not!

Postby skunked » Fri Dec 17, 2010 2:50 am

Caught this little guy yesterday by the Island. Saw some busting action, but of course they were always out of reach of this poor shore fisherman. Sucks. I just wanted to post this picture because I was happy that it looked healthy and not anorexic. Looks like they are making a comeback. Not many big ones though, but we'll see in a few years!

Shimano Curado 51E: great reel for smaller lures. Highly recommended. Souped up with Boca orange seal ceramic spool bearings.
Texas Sidewinder rod (Rainshadow RX8 blank) w/spiral wrapped guides.
Xcalibur XRK25 "one-knocker" lipless crankbait. Seems to work a lot better here than the kind with a thousand BB's inside.
Fishing is fun only if you do it for fun.Image www.texassidewinderrods.com

That is a healthy looking fish! Thanks for posting it up. I see it as a sign of great fishing in the future. 8)
