I got out late morning and started fishing the grass beds and structure just before the first bridge. Didn't have much luck until I made it BSA Is. Fished all around BSA Is., Miki Miki Point, and the cove across from BSA Is. where I met up with Pegasus. I stuck with the watermelon brush hog. I went thru 3 of them today! Then in the evening there was a few sporatic bust along the west side of BSA Is. Switched over to the bubble rig until a peacock attacked my bubble. I tired out my clear plastic torpedo which worked great! Ended up with 8 LMB and 2 peacocks. Most about 1 to 1.5 lb. Not a bad way to spend a Sun. afternoon.

Yeah, I remember that day. And I know exactly where that spot is ! Luke and I went out at noon till 3:30 today and threw tilapia again. We picked up a total of six tucs. Four were over 3lbs. Went to most of our spots, except one. A boat from the tournament was camped out on it the whole day while we were there. We watched Roadwarrior snag a few LM off a point with his brush hogs. What a beautiful day to be on the lake !

One of these days RW, your going to hang into a fish (over 2 pounds) that is going to straighten out that cheep nickle swivel of yours...
If you insist on using a swivel ( LOL ) at least get a good one.
The ball-bearing ones are the best. (not pictured)
Some of the little tiny ones have a breaking strength of 25 pounds.

I know how you feel about swivels, and I won't even argue. I'm just too lazy to re-tie lures when its so easy to swap using a swivel. So where do you get these mondo swivels at?

With the swivel, you do probably get better action than if the line was tied directly to the lure. That's why some lures have that little split ring.
Another idea is to have 8 or 10 rods rigged with a different lure.
