Tenkara Fish Story

Craig is the person who first introduced me
to Tenkara Fishing. He picked it up while working in Japan.
We decided to see if the red devils would
take my new crawfish flys. He wanted peacock bass
so I suggested a "silver" Crazy Charlie.

Just as we pulled up to the first spot the peacock
bass started schooling.
Craig made a few casts and came up with... a largemouth.

Out came the sun and
dried up all the rain...
and we didn't see any
schooling fish anywhere again.

Back to the red devils. Nothing. None anywhere.
The RD have just vanished.
Water level is at 72 feet and dropping a foot a day.
Water temperature is a cool 76 degrees.
I think all the tropical peacock bass have
gone into hibernation.
Meanwhile, Craig is catching peacock bass.
Well, the "under 10 pound" size... ( 1 Pounders )

I even got one or two... We saw some 2 to 3 pounders,
but they ignored our flys.
(Chris folks caught some nice peacocks on live bait)

I think the reason Craig caught 12 or 14 fish
and I only caught 2 was because he was using
the "silver" fly and I was using this "gold" fly.
(Couldn't be because he is a better angler, could it?)
LOL LOL LOL
