Fishing according to Chris:
With the rains this week (and all morning) the lake level is up a little and the water temperature is down into the high 70's. The largemouth are much more active. Caught 4 this morning and lost a few more.
Lots of peacock bass around... just keep working the shoreline... caught some 3 and 4 pounders....
some responded when cast to, most just slowly swam away from the lure.
(Chris, come over to the Dark Side... use the live bait.)
There was scattered schooling action. They didn't stay on the surface to long but if you could get your lure into the white water... you got bit.
Two to 4 pound size fish.
An exciting time was had by all...

"Why let the truth stand in the way of a good fish story?"
I fished today as well. 2pm to 6pm. Pretty much the same report. There was a lot of schooling around BSI and the main basin but they didn't stay up for long tucs and bass in the mix but if you got it to em they would bite. Caught fish on a variety of lures. I had a few blow up's on topwater but couldn't hook those fish, they sounded huge but when I actually got a glimpse of one with my sammy in his mouth I could see why I wasn't hooking fish. They were really smacking it but it was too big for their mouths. Caught one nice bass that was 18.5 inches long, it wasn't sickly looking but he wasn't fat..probably about 2.5lbs. Caught about 10 or 12 including a catfish on a plastic worm. I found a new secret lure that the fish are going crazy for but I'm having a hard keeping fish on with it...maybe I need to use a softer rod with this bait....new excuse for a new rod and reel

Saturday morning... didn't see any sign of schooling fish.
Working the shoreline with lures...
Got strikes, blow ups, swirls, and follows from nice size peacock bass...
must have had rubber hooks... no fish made it to the boat for pictures.
Water level up about 6 inches and cooler temperature.
