"Mad Fish" TV visits Hawaii

Postby Stan Wright » Thu Oct 21, 2010 6:37 pm

"Mad Fish" TV Show visits Hawaii.
Image

Charlie Moore, the Mad Fisherman, was on
Lake Wilson this week in search of peacock bass.
Chris hosted Charlie and his film crew for
two days of fishing. As you know, the
fishing has been tough. They worked hard
for every largemouth and peacock.
Image

Chris gave Charlie a fishing lesson the first day...
only because peacock bass don't act like largemouth.
But being the true professional that he is, Charlie
quickly adjusted and started hooking fish.
They were able to land more than enough
fish for the video camera.
Image

It was wild watching Chris and Charlie fishing together...
neither giving the other any slack. Charlie with 16
years of professional bass fishing and TV hosting vs. Chris,
the local expert holding home town advantage
with his years of fishing every nook and cove on
Lake Wilson. It should be an interesting, fun filled TV show.

We'll let you know when and where the show airs.

For real! Why couldn't htey have come in 08, or even 09? That would have done wonders to put Lake Wilson on the map!

I wish we could get Mike Iaconelli here for an episode of City Limits Fishing. Is that show still on? Mark Zona's WGFS is good too.

I was just talking with my tournament partner yesterday about "The Mad Fisherman" and his tv show. Then I got to run off my mouth about my fishing time on Lake Wilson last June. Now Charlie shows up out there filming a show. It is a small fishing world!! lol Boston and Virginia are a long way from Lake Wilson by the way. My guide was roadwarriorsvt and we had a great fishing trip. Sorry Charlie, you missed the peacocks off the bed with a jig bite, that was great!!

Yea, that's a shame they missed the spawnning on the beds action.
They had an underwater camera... it would have been something to see. :D

I like that City Limits show too! Ike is always good for a laugh or two. I have had the chance to fish tournaments that Ike has fished on the Pro side and he seems to be a good guy. The kids love him anyway!! Here is a pic of me and a line of autograph seeking kids after I won a Bass Open tournament on the co-angler side. The funny part was that Ike is standing beside me with no one asking for an autograph and here I am signing my name. That will never happen again, I really enjoy that picture that friends of mine sent me. lol

I'll teach you how to catch peacock bass if you'll teach me how to catch largemouth bass.

Stan, it would be nice to trade some lessons, but it is a long way from Va. to Lake Wilson. Roadwarriorvt has seen the largemouth technique, it is a very slow, boring way to catch really big bass that win tournaments. It is all with jigs with trailers. You either want to catch 20 or 30 fish a day or catch 7 or 8 that outweight all those small ones. If your interested we won a tournament last weekend with over 18 pounds, 5 fish. and finished 2nd today with 12.48 and we only had 4 keepers. Pictures are online at Centralvirginiabasscast.com for the one with the 18+ pounds. Robert and Rory. I saw how much fun Lake Wlson could be back in June and sure would like to makie it back someday!!

Hey Stan its Shane. I'll teach you how to catch largemouths when I get back from the middle east. It is a slow method of jigging, or using plastics. Topwater is also good for early in the morning, or late in the evening.
