Another Clean Sweep

Out of the blue, another Smallmouth Bass. That's two days in a row. Crash had already landed sveral largemouth bass (under one pound)
So with this 2 pound smallie... all he needed was a peacock bass to round off his "Lake Wilson Clean Sweep".
Not as easy as it seems... Oh, the peacock bass were there... and biting. It was just a matter of geting them in the boat. Over the next 2 hours I landed 10 or 15 PB of assorted sizes from 4 inches to over 2 pounds.
Crash was geting way more strikes than me... but he just couldn't stick them. After about a 5 minute fight one fish that looked about 4 pounds made a jump that cleared the water and spit the hook right back at the boat. Close but no cigar.
Then about noon we spotted two big peacock bass that appeared to be spawning... Crash tossed the lure in on top of the nest and the smaller of the two fish nailed it. After a quick fight and pictures we released this
2 1/4 pounder... length 16 inches.. tag number 3529.
That makes it a clean sweep. A largemouth, a smallmouth, and a peacock bass.... all in one day. This is the first time in 18 years that Crash has fished Lake Wilson since moving to the mainland. A nice home comming.
