Another... 11 Aug 10 Report

Postby Stan Wright » Thu Aug 12, 2010 8:01 am

Another action packed morning... Lots of small bass and bluegill.
Frequently interrupted by a 1, 2, or 3 pound peacock bass. Saw over 40 free swimming peacock bass... large ones.

Missed strikes on a bunch.
"It's hard to wait till you feel the fish before you set the hook"
That lesson was quickly learned and they started sticking a lot more fish.
 "Don't 'set the hook'. Just keep reeling and let the fish set the hook".

Also saw some huge schools of busting fish. Could the "schooling" be starting at last?

The lure of choice, a 2' white Senko.

We started at MikiMiki Flats and followed the shore line around to Tuke Rock... and that point by the Pineapple Fields. Can't go to far if your always stopping to net a fish and take a picture.

Try contact Jeff at the Filthy Fisherman....
http://www.filthyfishermen.com/

We were talking about his company making some.
Some a little more durable. Where you can catch 3 or 4 fish on one before it breaks apart.

I ordered mine through the Gary Yamamoto web site. I don't know if they still make them. They sold mostly in Japan.

Well set me free, Mother Bear.... lookie what I found....

Senkos are very good... only problem is that you can usually get it to last for one or two fish....
