If only we could have landed just one of those peacock bass,
we would have had a "Bass Clean Sweep".
Shane got the largemouth bass.
Shane got the smallmouth bass.
Got the strikes, had the fish on....
But...... those frisky peacock kept coming unbuttoned
before we could take their picture......
Water temperature was 68 degrees,
wind out of the north at 20+ MPH.
It was cold. Most all of the action was on spinnerbaits...
in the back of coves.....
where the wind was howling.
If only we could have landed one of those peacock bass.
If......... If......... If.........
To quote Dandy Don Meradith:
"If 'Ifs' and 'Buts' was candy and nuts,
we'd all have a Merry Christmas".

bass clean sweep
I think now would be the best time to get a clean sweep or grand slam. Smallmouth would be the hardest to get out of the three. With a lot of water coming out of the mountain maybe some smallmouth will come down from the creek. The water is also cool so the bass should be active.
