The lake is at the 80+ foot level... Full.
Here is the boat ramp. Even had some people out fishing.
Image

As we headed toward the bridge... you know that little island?
Image

Well this is what it looked like a few weeks ago.
Image

When the lake is full, the "Catch & Relaease" sigh on the bridge looks like this....
Image

And this is the same sign when the water level was at 60 feet.
Would you say we've had a little rain in the last 2 weeks?
Image

There was a lot of floating stuff.... logs, sticks, grass, trash....
Image

Found this boat floating along the north fork... anyone loose a boat?
Image

Water was going over the spillway at the dam.

Not like a week ago.

Who in the wide world of sports idea was it to go fishing today?

Are we having fun yet... or what?

Sorry, I forgot to mention....
Water visibility was about 6 to 12 inches....
Water temperature was 70 to 74 degrees....

We saw peacock bass swimming, red devils, lots of talipia.... and bunches of schools of shad on the surface.
We also had lots of casting practice.

:D

At least the water temp is staying up in range. If the water level would just stabilize, some good fishing could start.

Last four trips have been nothing but casting practice for me! I need to resort to the....dare I mention it....LIVE BAIT. Oh no, but I think it is time.
Saw a couple of pairs of big tucs at the ramp today. Not interested in my lures. Also saw a pongee for the first time in a long time!

That is most likely the same boat I saw three homeless peeps paddling towards the end of the north fork last week. They were asking if there was a path they could use to get to Whitmore Village. We informed them this was private property. After he turned the bend, he let the two female passengers out. One was wearing a backpack, common practive for burglars to use to carry stolen items. I ended up telling the guy to get the girls back in the boat or the police would be called, which he did.

The boat was accross from Quanset Hut.

I should toe it back to the ramp and put a for sale sign on it.

Took out friends from the mainland on Sat. Was the only boat out from 7 till noon. Got two red devils, one football, and a soccer ball. Lake looks great with all that water. Tough fishing continues !
