Schooling Peacock Bass

Postby Stan Wright » Thu Nov 19, 2009 7:22 pm

Worked the shoreline on Wed & Thur with spinner baits and Senkos.
Nada! Even tried live bait on the points... No Mas. :(
Water level came up to the 75 foot marker on Boy Scout Island.
I'm sure the flood gate is open and the water will be back
down to the 65 foot level in 2 weeks or so.
The lake looks really nice with the high water.

However, we did get some action with the schooling peacock
bass from Boy Scout Island down to the Main Basin.
Chris loves those 2 inch white Senkos, and so did the fish.
We also caught on Tiny Torpedos and live bait.
(live bait didn't work on the points fished deep,
but worked if you tossed them into the schooling fish)

This is Kazuhiro with an almost 3 pounder that he
caught on 4# test ultra-light gear.
That one took a while to land.... :D

Here he is with another one... I was shooting
pictures with his camera so I only got a few
shots on my camera.

Yep, the north fork looks almost like a swimming pool. It is a nice clear blue/green. I agree, the lake looks "healthy", at least for now. I'm hoping to go out for a couple of hours Fri. evening.
