John, just back from deployment, joined me for a day at the lake.
He hooked into a nice size "red tail", (carp) and fought it for almost 45 minutes...(light 3wt fly rod) Sorry, no pictures, seems I forgot the net and it pulled loose when I grabbed for it's tail...
We saw schooling fish from BSA Island all the way down to Kemoo Isl...
But not one bite. The red devils started eating later in the afternoon.
Good fun on our light fly rods.
Skunked was fishing the shoreline accross from Boy Scout Island.
He landed a nice fat 2.5 pound peacock bass.
His one fish weighed more than the 25 or 30 "very tiny" peacock bass that John and I caught.... total.
Well, the good news is... all those tiny tukes means we had a good spawn this year.
Aloha,
stan
