Caught a peacock bass Mon. 20 July 09, half way between Blue Gill Bay (Y) and Morgans Pt.(X)

It was very healthy with good color. It weighed 2 pounds.... sorry I don't have a length.... I wasn't in my boat. Tag #3614 was all covered with green stuff. Fish hit a white spinner bait. Camera wasn't working, so no picture.

Water level is up about 5 or 6 feet from last week. The lake is a bright green color with water visibility at a foot or so. It was a little clearer up near Kincades and Quonset Hut area... but still pretty green. The lake is looking more like a regular lake now that the grass has grown all along the muddy banks and the water level is up to the grass.

Fishing has been slow all week... Didn't see any peacock bass cruising the shoreline all day. Only saw 5 or 6 red devils all day. Caught 2 peacock bass and had chases from 3 others. No schooling fish that we saw...

What's up with the green water color ? Is that normal for this time of year ? And where are all the fish hiding ?

its like a whole new lake after couple of months of such low water, will have to re examine our tactics! hopefully the green isnt the beginning of a oxygen depleting algae bloom but warm weather does help that kinda thing along.
