Today, Shane, Jeff, Camera Dog, and I went fishing in the rain.
I wanted to test out my new Color-C-Lector, and Jeff wanted to try out some new Filthy Trick Worms. (Shane just wanted to go fishing)
There was scattered busting fish as we arrived at BSA Island. Very scattered. I tried out one of the the Filthyfisherman replacements for the 2" Senko. It's a little longer and fatter. Casts better because of the added weight. And is tough... this thing will catch more than one fish to a worm. And it works like a charm.
Notice the rain?
We eased over to The Old Dead Tree and Jeff hooked a nice largemouth on his new Filthy Trick Worm. Insisting that he didn't my assistance with the dip net. His 2-3 pound fish did a nice jump beside the boat and tossed the hook. He said it was about 2 pounds or a little larger. I say any fish that gets away is a 10 pounder.
Then I hooked one.
Shane hooked into some largemouth.
I checked the Color-C-Lector from time to time. The water was "stained".
only about 3 feet of visibility... Checked the color chart and showed it to Jeff... He just smiled and showed me the worm he had been using...
Same color as the chart. That's why I bought it... I can't take Jeff fishing with me every time to tell me what color to use.
Jeff called it a slow day, Shane and I enjoyed just getting out on the water. We tagged 3 more largemouth.
And guess who had the most fun of all? Well Labs are water dogs. It seemed the harder it rained the more he wagged his tail.

Lol,, The color we were using was my Blue Fleck color.. Pretty standard in the industry, has blue .35 Dia Blue Metallic flake in it,, I tend to mix mine a tad bit redder,, and of course, A lot stronger!!!! I also threw the craw and weenie worm with no takers... We headed all around looking for WIND was my pattern the other day,, but the Water has been on a steady fall from plaining out on the 7th 76.25ft. This day the level is at 75.75 and falling untill the rain collects and raises today (11-11-11) its at 76.11!!! Its going to be spilling over someday soon!!! Remember Stan what we talked about out in the rain? Tides,, Water Level plays HUGH part in the game! Logging is Key! Now I am almost on a All Out pattern for Wilson on the Level of it In general!!! Even tho it looked flooded to us out there, and we threw at the banks,, They were actually on a tad deeper pattern kinda like The delaware river NJ outgoing tide, postitoning on secondary structure,, for instance, not on the tree, by the tree, not on the rocky bank, just off it,,.. With the water level fluxing so much now,, its hard figure something out,, But Now is time to note everything we see happening when its high like this... I also caught a fish on the back side Kemmoo island on a KVD 6 sexyshad crankbait on my New Rod I got from Basstracker!! Thanks Man!!! So Its hard out!! Going to be Rainy winter!
