Could you give us a few details about the rod, reel and line you guys use?

I use 4# Ande mono tied straight to the lure with a Palomar. The reels are Quantum PTi 10 and Shimano 1000fb are on a Pfluger 5'ul and a Fenwick 5.5' They both have metal guides. I thought they were kind of a cheap trick, but like the way they have held up to extreme abuse. Hiking in streams you will go down hard from time to time.

I was wondering about the line test... I use 4# too. Looks about the same size rod and reels too. :D

I'm a big fan of the 4# test and Light tackle. Lost more big ones than I landed, but I'm betting I've gotten bitten by more big ones to.

Awesome videos! Reminds me of fishing the upper north fork of Lake Wilson 25+ years ago. Those are some of the best fishing memories I have. Peace and quiet and just enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.
Is that a Stella FB? Wow! Just like me, pairing an expensive reel with a budget rod, and vice-versa.

100% agreed. Those are easily some of my best memories as well. And never, ever saw another person.
