Day 1, Summer Vacation

Postby Stan Wright » Fri May 27, 2011 6:53 pm

:D

What do you do on the first day of your summer vacation?
Go fishing. One needs a break after a whole year of first grade.

Vash talked his Dad, Alvin into taking him down to the lake.

Chris ask me to come get the boat at noon so he could go straight to work... (read surfing) When they arrived back at the boat ramp they were telling wild tales of schooling fish near Kunia Point and Boy Scout Island.
Catching a fish on every cast. Action at the boat ramp was kind of slow this morning and when I noticed Vash hanging on every word as Chris talked about the fishing..... I invited he and his dad for a little boat ride to check it out. I didn't have to ask twice.

We only made it as far as the County Yard, before Vash spotted the splashes of feeding peacock bass. When the fish splashed the surface, the baitfish jumped and scattered. All you had to do was get a lure into the white water. After a few strikes and misses, Vash tied into a nice peacock bass. The reel screamed in protest as the 4# test line melted from the reel. Vash has been practicing his casting in the back yard and knows his way around a spinning reel. It wasn't long before Dad slipped the net under the fish.

Picture time. Vash with his peacock bass.

What better way to spend a summer vacation than on a father and son fishing trip? (sorry about the raindrop on the camera lens dad)
 I'm sure the one with your camera turned out better.

Thank you very much for taking Vash & his dad out. They both enjoyed it so much, they now want to buy a boat.
