Been catching smaller largemouths the last few days. Been using plastics and they seem to hit anything, small or big setups. Anyone been catching anything of a decent size? Any ideas on how to get the big ones biting? I've seen friends catch 4-5lb ones before....not recently though.
Here are a few pics of these little guys...
Where are the big largemouth?

Go deep
Been catching some better size ones drop shotting.... With 3 foot leader... by the dam in deep water 30 deeper... still there like 14-15"
Try using a bigger craw type lure like a beaver with a 1/4oz worm sinker. Jig it down deeper. This was working before the water level rose. I haven't had a chance to get out since then. I caught a few 2lbers and 4lber doing this. I also caught some nice ones about 2lbs dropshotting a finesse worm. I was only using a 10inch leader though. Color didn't seem to matter a whole lot...except maybe darker colors were a little more productive. I generally do better with dark colors in stained water.

Nice one Tommy! Looks pretty healthy too. Smaller head and mouth indicates a faster growth rate than the long skinny ones with big heads. I hope the bass population makes a 100% comeback.
Fishing is fun only if you do it for fun. www.texassidewinderrods.com
Try throwing a crankbait around the points. I've had my best luck on a Bandit Flat Maxx (white), Norman Deep Little N(Texas shad) and Rebel Deep Wee-R(white). Try to fish as much as you can when it is over cast or in the middle of the rain. I had a great week about 6 months ago with three fish weighing in at 7lb, 5.25lb and 4lb. I hope this helps you out. Also, I caught a 6.75 in Nov08 and it was raining pretty hard that day.
