Sunday Morning Report

Postby Pegasus » Mon Nov 23, 2009 4:26 pm

Luke and I hit the lake for an early trip Sun. The fog was rolling off the water as the sun came up. The water level was still way up at 73 ft. The water temp was 72 . The lake looks good at this level. The small island on the south fork around the corner from the ramp was only a foot out of the water. Went all the way back to the bridge. Lots of floating wood pushed into the bank by the winds. Got word that the fishing had been a little slow during the week, so we came prepared with an assortment of baits. The tilapia bite was zero. Nada ! Zilch ! Worked the shore and deep with no luck. No fish at all on the bank. No lookers or chasers. The redworms picked up a few red devils and a small cat. The crawdads were a red devil favorite and I even picked up a tuc on one ! That is a first for me. No schooling fish seen. Maybe the bite was better in the aftenoon after it warmed up. We had to go by noon, but it was a nice morning to be out on the lake. Only two other boats out.Next time I am bringing baby catfish and some hammerheads ! Maybe even one of those lure things you guys talk about !

I saw some very small bust around Kemoo Is. Sat evening. Tried a gold Kastmaster. Tucs blew up on it twice but they missed it. Thats about it. I think the afternoon/evening when the water is warmer may be better for Tucs.
