My Granddaughts First Fishing Trip (5 lb.er)

Postby roadwarriorsvt » Thu Jul 30, 2009 8:40 pm

I decide to sneak out for a little while Thurs evening. My 4 year old granddaughter asked to come along so I bring her. I was amazed at how receptive and thrilled she was at riding in the boat and fishing from the boat. On the very first cast, we land this 5+ lb.er. My cheapie scales read almost 6# but I think it was closer to 5 lbs. My granddaughter was quick to reel him in. She was very helpful passing the needle nose pliers back and forth. She even scooped the minnows out of the bucket and grabbing them to hand to me. She was a joy to watch. Heck, she even drove the boat back part of the way. Needless to say, I am very proud of her. Uncle Larry even talked her into kissing one of the bass! :?

Yep, I remember my dad and grandfather taking me fishing in their pond on the farm. I'm jst glad I can make some memories with the granddaughter. I feel lucky she is so excited about fishing!

That is awesome! Seeing my niece and nephew catching fish and having fun is way more rewarding than catching them myself. I'm sure 99% of the folks here feel the same way. Nothing's like sharing your passion with others, especially children. Way to go!
