Caught one in the Manoa, water is much too murky the farther up you go due to construction, no idea where the smb have gone. Caught in a deep pool that had a buttload of Koi. A cheap shallow crank was used. About 1 1/2lbs. Thought I had snagged a Koi.
The Waikele stream on the other hand had much better quality water. Also MUCH deeper water, kept a consistent water level above the knees. Stream is also much wider. Loads of smb fry, not one Jewel Banded Ciclid or plecostomus/armored cat in sight in the lower/mid regions. Much better results compared to friday's excursion on the Manoa. Around 7 SMB total. Biggest one being 2lbs so far. All caught on a shallow crank and small buzzbait.
