On Friday, I spoke with a fly fisherman who landed 20 something peacock bass.... the largest over 2 3/4 pounds. He was working the shore lines from Boy Scout Island to Morgans Pt. Said that early in the day there was some schooling action for a little while.
A bass fisherman said he saw lots of fish, but they were not at all aggressive. Caught several on topwaters.... but mostly they gave a half hearted chase and that was it.
Clay and I caught 3 each. The largest was 1 1/2 pounds. We fished for about an hour using live bait. The woods on the left just past the pineapple firld. We saw some nice ones, but they just ignored the live baits.
Clay got a tagged fish that he had tagged 2 months ago. It grew 1/2 inch. LOL
Water is very clear... 3-4 feet. Water level is about 78 feet and dropping. (down 2 feet from last Sunday. 80 feet is full and going over the spilway)
The TOC is today... Saturday... so I'll post a report tonight on who caught what. (hopefully where and on what) Those tournament anglers can be secretave. Weighins are at Red Devel Cove at noon and 4:00 PM

Saturday evening update.....
Eight of the ten qualifiers for the TLC fished the first day of the tournament. All 8 anglers caught fish... 5 weighed in their 3 fish limit. I wasn't able to get names of who placed where, but it's still a horse race.
1st and 2nd place both caught three peacock bass over 3 pounds. One over 4.... he's the leader.
3rd, 4th, and 5th place anglers each caught a 3 pound plus fish and 2 fish under 2 pounds.
6th place angler has a peacock bass just over 2 pounds.
7th and 8th in the standings have one fish under 2 pounds.
Everyone caught lots of fish under the 12 inch minimum qualifing length. Everyone saw, and missed some larger fish. (rubber Hooks ???)
Tomorrow is another day.... and if a few of those large ones that got away today are put in the live well on Sunday.... it could easily take the tournament.
Here are some of the leaders.... See you on the lake tomorrow.
