We should have fished today.

Postby Stan Wright » Tue Jun 25, 2013 2:12 pm

I've been sitting here watching the lake level rise all morning.
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/hi/nwis/uv/?s ... %3C/h3%3E/
(It's raining like crazy on the Windward Side... enough rain
is getting over the mountains and into the Lake Wilson
watershed to make it climb)

Oh, the reason we should have been fishing today... Well, the fish were schooling in the Main Basin. Perhaps it was the cloudy weather. Something about overcast days...

Also.... Live bait at Blue Boat Point. Peacock bass, largemouth bass, red devils, catfish.... Just think, tomorrow we can all say...
'You should have been here... yesterday"

I was there yesterday afternoon at Blue Boat Point. And your report is true. Nothing bigger than three pounds, but plenty of action ! Had a couple of nice largemouths - both over 2 lbs and lots of tucs . A nice bluegill even attacked a rooster tail spinner along the grass. The rain cleared out and it was a beautiful afternoon on the point. But a word of advice........ They are working on the freeway at the H1 / H2 merge starting at 6pm. If you stay out on the lake too long, be ready for a mess of traffic at the merge !
And the guys at the ramp also were getting them on the bubble rig set up.

Instead of "I should have be here yesterday",
mayhaps I should have gone fishing today?

:(
YES, I should have gone fishing today...
They caught 10-12 largemouth on top waters (schooling fish)
and 30+ peacock.
Also tried live bait and got a bunch of peacock bass some catfish and a few red devils. (Blue Boat Point, but don't tell anybody.)
Yes, I should have gone fishing yesterday... and today.
