Sunday Morning
I don't normally fish on weekends... this morning the parking lot was full by 7:30. So many people fishing in my "secret" spots.
Must be something wrong with the temperature gauge on the boat... couldn't have been 70 degree water temperature. The water level had risen a foot or so and the peacock bass were not moving.
No schooling fish that we could see so Shane suggested we try plastic worms.
I just bought some Filthy Fisherman replacement senkos from Jeff so we figured we'd "test" them.
Have no idea what Jeff calls this, but it works fine.
We ended up catching 6 bass.
5 largemouth and this nice smallmouth bass.
Tried and tried to get a peacock bass to go with the smallie and the big mouth... but it just wasn't happening. Shane did have a nice one on... but it came unbuttoned at the boat.
The Aquatic Resources folks were on the lake conducting a creel survey. They said the fishing was slow today.
"Why let the truth stand in the way of a good fish story?"
