You have to watch out for the fingers that juts out from the points.
I've been fishing here only 6 weeks and have hit shallow fingers
two times. That prompted my user name.

I heard that the state needs to repair the gates on the dam so
they need to drain the lake but not completely empty.
Hopefully the state will not have any funding for this project since
they are short of monies in all areas.

What you hit between the piling is about an 8" log that pointing
straight up in the middle of the channel.

Funny thing is when I passed it at 10:00 yesterday, it was
6" above the water. Coming back from fishing at 2:00
the log was a couple inches under waster.
Must have been high tide.

water level update at 2:30 Sunday:
Only one feet of water at the end of the ramp.
The stump that sticks up between the piling is now 10" above the
water line.
No trailers in the parking lot.

Next 1/2 hour:
3 boat launched ( 14' skiff, 12' Livingston, & 10' skiff)
I guess the professionals with the real bass boats are
staying away for awhile!

Looks OK to launch today but one foot lower and the
back tires will be off the ramp.

Can you tell whats off the ramp? Just mud or a drop off?

The concrete ramp extends about a foot past the pier.
After that is a slow dropoff of mud and rocks.
I probed about 5' out and found no drop off.
One of the launching boats trailer tire was out about
5' past the ramp and was OK.
I don't know what is farther out.
I think we'll find out soon since they will continue
draining this week.
