Goldfish or Minnows

Now that the bass are starting to hit hard, I need some live bait. I can go trap minnows, etc. in a stream or just hit up a store and buy 100 goldfish for $15.00. Anyone have an opinion on which are more effective?

When I was little, I have caught bass with goldfish. Using exotic fish in Ontario for bait is illegal...but we were young and naive back then. Anyways, we did catch fish...not sure if they are better than minnows though.

I just use what ever I've got. It's easy to go to the pet store. It's cheeper to go over to the stream in Kailua and trap talipia.

If I want to fish for bigger peacock bass I use the large talipia.... you can't buy big baits (4 to 8 inch kind)

Other than catching larger fish with larger baits... I don't think there is much difference. Large fish will eat little gold fish too.

I like the medium size gold fish... i think the peacock bass like everything.

Sounds good. I caught 45 couple of days ago and 55 today. Hopfully that will last throughout the holiday weekend!
