I was heading back to the ramp after fishing the North Fork most of the day. Came around the bend and saw this. Another reason for keeping the water level higher. Yesterday's news did not say what the cause was but I would wager it was arson.

Some 30 or 40 years ago Boy Scout Island was a show place. Camp sites, fire bowl, trails, the place was like a park. There was at least one Scout Troop camping there every weekend. They had fun and always left the place better than they found it.

And then one day the lake rules changed..... "NO CAMPING".

I wonder what the State's justification for the no camping rulingwas? Maybe to combat the homeless living there?

Ban on camping came years before the homeless showed up on the banks of the Lake. I think it was a liability issue.

On the news they showed the HFD using some kind of foam to put out the fire instead of water, and the newscaster made ity sound like it was a good thing. What kind of foam fire retardant does HFD use, and is it harmful to the environment?

Not sure what type foam they use, but I'll bet its not harmful. The C&C is all about covering their okole's!
