Hi everyone! I went musky fishing again this weekend and finally caught my first musky. It probably doesn't mean much to you...but I've been chasing these fish for the whole summer and finally got one! And how does it feel? Well, I imagine very much like you guys finally catching your first tuc

Here's the picture.

Hey nice musky! I know those guys are super rare so congratulations. We have a fish here called the ulua (Giant Trevally) that some people try for years to catch their first one. And then there's those fortunate few who catch 'em every time. I've never caught one, but then I have never tried either.

Hey skunked, thanks for the congrats! Actually in Ontario, there are lots of lakes and rivers with muskies in them...it's just that the numbers are not as abundant as other fish (very low actually). One of my friends fish bass tournaments often and seem to hook into a few everytime he goes bass fishing...but he knows what he's doing and I'm just starting

Yeah, on the "worthiness" scale, a musky is more like an ulua! Mine is "small" at 28" only...so it's closer to catching a papio

I've read about uluas (Giant Trevally)...next May, I'm gonna start with papios and omilus first...then maybe I'll see if anyone on the Ulua-Fishing board (where I've learned A LOT about fishing in Hawaii) are willing to have me tag along on a few trips. I don't have any of the right rods and reels for that kind of fishing...so I'll have to tag along and see if they let me pull on in
