Power Pole Shallow Anchor System

Postby Ken » Sat Sep 20, 2008 4:13 am

Hey guys,

I was watching an online fishing show on YouTube and they talked about this anchoring system.

The benefits to the system is a very silent deployment and also no back breaking work pulling the anchor up after.

It is most suitable for working shallow areas.

Pretty interesting idea...but definitely much more expensive than an anchor

It would be great for hunting bonefish on the flats though.

Those things are great for thin water anglers... 6 feet or less.
Fishing the flats on salt water or shallows in freshwater. It's a lot easier than trying to plant your push pole in the bottom.

Problem with Lake Wilson is it's about 20 to 60 feet deep every where. Hard to even use anchor.

90% of tournament bass boats have power poles. I wish we had shallow flats to use one on.

I was watching one of the B.A.S.S. shows on ESPN and they were talking about how the guys who fish for spawning bass really love them. Makes sense I guess all they have to do step on a button they have up on the bow..not dig out the anchor, or constantly running the trolling motor to hold position.
